About Ritukesh Bharali

In my current role as a Research Engineer/Specialist at GKN Aerospace Sweden AB, I work with method development for fatigue life analysis of aircraft engine components. This involves proposing novel methods, verification and integration into in-house code(s), and maintenance.My educational background is in Solid and Structural Mechanics, having obtained a Ph.D. from Chalmers University of Technology (Sweden) and a specialized M.Sc. from Delft University of Technology (Netherlands). During this time, I developed my own finite element software package 'falcon'. Written in C++, one may simulate real-world problems involving material degradation (damage, fracture, plasticity) with millions of unknowns efficiently. After my Ph.D., I continued at Chalmers Materials and Computational Mechanics division as a Researcher, where I investigated Model Order Reduction (MOR) techniques for crystal-plasticity.Besides the professional commitments of doctoral studies and research, I have served as a union member representing the doctoral students in our division (Material and Computational Mechanics at Chalmers University of Technology). Aided by the courses in 'Advanced Communication' and 'Creating and Managing Effective Teams', I took an active role in conflict resolution and drove ideas for better workplace environment.
