I volunteer as part of a board of 8 trustees. Our responsibilities include the direction of organisation, budget oversight, fund-raising and staff recruitment. I have had particular input into a restructuring of the organisation in 2014, recruitment of the new Chief Executive in September 2015 and attracting new trustees to the board. Iniva is now thriving.

I regularly chair panel discussions at public festivals and events. Preparation for these requires in-depth reading and evaluation of the key ideas. I learnt how to produce a programme with a rapidly changing agenda, under time pressure and subject to close public.
