Since the time I can remember having a consciousness, I have been creating. Be it writing a story, a poem or sketching a car, a bike or a game character. I still remember that I used to watch a show on the TV where the protagonist had a magic pencil that turned everything he sketched into reality. Since that time I have been trying to sketch better for them to be close to reality as much as I can! Then I started practicing sketching cars looking at video game disk covers or movies or paused game screens. xDI was sketching a motorcycle on the other side of my final exam question paper in high school (after completing my exam, just before the invigilator came in to collect the papers). There was a senior sitting on the desk beside me who noticed the sketch. He asked me casually, “Do you want to be an Automotive Designer?”. Call me dramatic, but I felt genuine goosebumps all over my body. I just couldn’t think of anything! I rushed back home researched about these two new words “Automotive”, “Designer” and that changed the trajectory of my life for the better. Since I come from a rather conservative Indian family, where art and design has always been frowned upon, this was one of the obstacles in my path to become a designer. But I am so grateful to my parents who have always supported my dreams to be a transportation designer and helped me push myself throught the glass ceiling and pursue it as my full time career.I strongly believe in helping, learning from, and growing with the people around me. I have always been a team player. Seeing everyone working on the same goal ; growing, learning, failing, teaching each other, has always been a part of my personal and professional relationships. As a designer I am an enthusiastic learner and implementer. I always appreciate good old criticism from my seniors that I can learn from and be better. Since the time I got to know that Automotive Design is a career choice, I have been a keen observer and learner of this industry and I strive to be better every day. I am proficient at sketching, SubD modeling, animating, and 2D rendering, and am really fond of design research and storytelling through my designs.
