• Modeled Engine Transients using GT-Power for a multi-cylinder dual fuel Reactivity Controlled Compression Ignition (RCCI) Engine with a goal of improving engine performance & efficiency and reducing emissions.

• Performed Simulation and Modeling of 3 HP & 70 HP novel rotary, compact, efficient, high-power-density gasoline/diesel combustion engines using GT-Power & MATLAB• Calibrated the model with experimental data obtained from test bench and improved the intake & exhaust systems• Procured various parts/instruments/sensors for testing

• Successfully completed a research project titled ‘Development of a Mathematical Model for Prediction and Optimization of Engine Friction’ with a goal of increasing engine efficiency.• Developed a Mathematical Model with MATLAB as the back-end and MS-EXCEL as the front-end to predict instantaneous friction occurring at the main journal bearings, connecting rod bearings and the piston group of inline IC Engines. Results verified with AVL-EXCITE Designer software.• Developed an optimization code in MATLAB for achieving optimum condition for Hydrodynamic Lubrication in the journal bearings and minimizing the frictional losses by using ‘Design of Experiment (DoE)’ method.

• Optimized the weight of the connecting rod of a certain IC engine by obtaining optimum shank cross-section considering bending, buckling and crushing failures.• Developed MATLAB models and ran simulations employing iterative numerical methods, which resulted into significant time reduction in the optimization process in terms of man-hours.

• Developed a mathematical model in MS-Excel as well as MATLAB to analyze the instantaneous loading of the journal bearings of a certain engine and plot Polar-Load diagrams for crank pin and main bearings.• The model is being used by ARAI to determine optimal locations for oil holes in the journal bearings.
