I work with MicroSociety's leadership, staff and partners to ensure the organization's strategy, content and messaging promote its educational mission and raise awareness of its work. Key audiences for the content I produce and oversee include the public, supporters and funders; MicroSociety's network of schools and educators; and the education world at large.

Consultant to CPJ's executive director developing an organization-wide storytelling strategy, and writer within the development team telling CPJ's story of global impact to funders and supporters, including its success aiding imprisoned journalists, seeking justice for murdered journalists, and defending press freedom around the world.

Managed editorial projects for The Story Exchange, a nonprofit media organization that tells the stories of women entrepreneurs in articles, videos and a podcast.

Oversaw research programs on technology-related topics primarily, driving theme and project development, survey design and editorial direction. Created everything from 4,000-word papers and 1,000-word articles to video interviews, audio podcasts, infographics and digital tools. Hired, managed and shaped the work of writers, designers and other contributors; managed project budgets; assisted in project promotion and distribution; liaised with program sponsors. Managed a deputy editor. Presented research at events and moderated panels.

Wrote about technology, with a focus on digital security and privacy and on small business, for The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Economist Intelligence Unit, Entrepreneur.com and other national publications.

Covered information security, Internet and semiconductor beats, wrote real-time news and enterprise feature stories. Contributed regularly to The Wall Street Journal and was a quarterly contributor to its Enterprise small-business column.
