Liaised with regional focal points to ensure smooth implementation of environmental health biennial programme. Directed process of developing a new program document (2016-18) while taking recommendations and suggestions from all the staff members across the organization. Co-operated and guided several departments by organizing meetings and arranging video conferences to discuss progress and developments pertaining to WHO’s performance in the field while ensuring best service at the country level. Prepared all necessary paperwork and communicated key findings to senior management to inform about areas of concerns/improvements. Collaborated with other UN agencies and embassies to deliver best advice to host governments by acting as focal point for SDGs. ♦ Achieved the consensus of different officials from top to bottom within the organization regarding the appropriate implementation of sustainable development goals.♦ Guided, trained, and mentored senior executives on programming while sharing practical field experience to aid learning and understanding process.♦ Created and disseminated a newsletter, comprising of sustainable development goals (SDGs) to leaders of the organization at global, regional, and country levels.

•Led Health Cluster and Donor Group and forged strong partnerships among all local, national and international stakeholders necessary for work in a complex emergency scenario. And developed the capacity of Ministry of Health to effectively and efficiently respond to massive needs ranging from Basic package of health services, Immunization, Polio eradication, Malaria, TB, International Health Regulations, and AIDS.•Strengthened global partnership with USAID, SIDA, DFID, CIDA, and EU to respond to massive health needs of Afghanistan.•Under my leadership USAID entrusted WHO in implementing delivery of basic package of health services worth of 60 million dollars.•Using “health as a bridge for peace” led efforts to establish “days of tranquillity for immunization” which involved discrete political discussions with all conflicting partners through the Red Cross. •Led efforts to reconstitute Afghanistan’s health system from scratch leading to sound improvements in major health and development indicators. •Helped formulate Afghanistan’s MDG baseline report and compact for the first time in the history of the country. •As an acting RC and HC I successfully managed numerous emergencies including floods, sand storms, earthquakes, avalanches, and epidemics. And led efforts to ensure CERF funding in response to UNCT proposals.•My achievements were widely recognized by the UN and government which culminated in the Afghani president to conferring an honorary medal on me.•Personally provided vital assistance to the Rule of Law pillar responsible for formulating a new constitution for the country by sharing with them experience of other countries from the region.

•Led work of water and sanitation group work with communities to ensure many cities in Afghanistan both under government control and opposition get access to safe water and adequate sanitation. Faizabad city got its first in history water network and water tank. Other served cities include: Kunuz, Laghman, Sheberghan, Kanadahar, and Herat. •Strengthened cooperation and collaboration with sister agencies, donors, WB, and NGOs working on similar issues and forged joint action to respond to country needs •Led with interagency team management of a cholera and other epidemics that hit Kabul and other cities including Kandahar,,herat, and Jalalabad. •Under my leadership WHO Afghanistan received funding for water and sanitation projects for the first time from AGFUND, KFW, JICA, and WB. •Led WHO team to respond to emergencies caused IDP situations resulting from drought and war.•Led overall management of the office which was delegated to me by the Rep in recognition of my sound managerial skills.•Selected as an officer in charge and acting Rep 2003-20005. And co-chaired health and education consultative groups. My work thereafter culminated in appointing me as WHO country Rep.

•Led efforts with 60 national professionals to formulate the country’s blue print for sustainable development in the 21st century. The Agenda- 21 in the country aimed at preparing Jordan for the 21 century by sustaining development gains. This task involved high level coordination and participation amongst stakeholders representing all sectors and institutions. Areas of work and issues tackled included inter alia water and wastewater, energy climate change, agriculture, tourism, health, desertification, women and youth, and relevant laws, rules, and regulations. Jordan’s Agenda 21was one of few selected as a flagship program. The program recommended establishing a standalone ministry of environment and its institutional strengthening.•Led efforts to formulate Jordan’s legal requirements including Environmental Impact Assessment, Audit guidelines, and other laws and regulations.•Elected to head Amman chapter of the Jordanian Environment Society and the legal committee•Conducted environmental impact studies and audit reports on pollution prevention and waste minimization.
