My name is Riya Mehra, and I am a Finance major and Human Resource Management minor at Rutgers Business School in New Brunswick. I am interested in Finance and HR because I have developed a passion for investing and did well in my initial finance classes, and also developed a passion for building and maintaining a positive culture in new environments. Having both of these fields of study allows me to pursue a broad range of possibilities, as I hope to work for a multinational corporation in a Financial or Human Resource position, or somewhere in between. Throughout my life, I have moved around the world and lived in many different places. My cross-cultural background has given me the ability to quickly and efficiently adapt to new environments. Having the opportunity to live snd study in different countries has greatly improved my learning agility, and made me appreciate the value of diversity much more. I've recently had a social media internship for a nonprofit called New Eyes for the Needy, and an internship for Packable which is the number one partner of amazon, and one of the fastest-growing, soon-to-be public e-commerce brand accelerators. These internships allowed me to develop a strong passion, experience, and familiarity for planning and organizing very successful and complex events, as well as developing my problem-solving, negotiating, and interpersonal skills. I am eager to implement my skills, experience, and background in a new position and leave a lasting impact wherever I go.
