Real Estate Sales

Here I taught workforce development seminars related to teaching participants the skills needed to search for, obtain, and keep employment. Much of the seminars had to do with goal attainment, and confidence building techniques, as well as shedding bad habits and replacing them with new skills. I worked in a special program which dealt with special needs participants who were placed in the program and needed additional assistance in finding employment.

Here, I started out as a Job Developer whose main task was to seek out numerous businesses and employers interested in working with welfare to workforce participants in our program, and explain to them the various incentives to working with us. I then began teaching participants skills training in resume writing, interviwing techniques, job search practices, etc.

I worked in training persons with developmental disabilities to work at everyday jobs. There was a large degree of case management and one-on-one counseling associated with the position. Here, my caseload was increased from 69% to 84% employed as the result of my successfully coordinating training and job opportunities for program participants. I also recieved an increase in pay after only six months for outstanding performance.
