Being a Chemical Engineer is a rollercoaster experience for me. I began my journey at a Natural Gas processing plant (GAIL India Ltd) as Production supervisor trainee where the feed is Natural gas and the products are LPG, Pentane, Naphtha. I exploited the opportunity to learn how a chemical industry works in reality apart from depicted in text books. I have been inspired by witnessing JT valve where advantage of Joule Thompson effect used to lower the temperature of Gas to a great extent for the upcoming liquefaction. Moreover the use of methanol to avoid freezing of pipelines due to hydrate forming has helped me to level up my enthusiasm towards seeking of new hidden gaseous phenomena. The cutting edge technology of Gas turbines compressor, expander compressor and cryogenic pumps are stimulated me to get up and go to duty even in night shift. I was perfectly driven by productive talks and knowledge sharing with my senior colleagues. They made me confident enough to face emergency situations like power failure, equipment failure, annual start up and shutdown. I learnt to read and understand the P&ID, Pipelines numbers, valve specification etc. I had to resign from there to explore further possibilities as a chemical Engineer. My aim is to join an organization where I would be able to learn new skills that would help me to grow professionally, while contributing to its overall success.
