RVCH is a mental health facility in Fresno, CA with 95% of its residents under conservatorship due to serious mental health illnesses. I teach agriculture to the residents as well as manage the Ruby’s Egg Production operation. Ruby’s has 13 egg-laying hens producing over 6 dozen eggs per week that are donated to the Central California Food Bank. Ruby’s also has 5 raised bed gardens that produce various fruits and vegetables all year round.
