In addition to offering consultancy by guiding colleagues and customers on best practices around the Cloud and DevOps, majority of the projects included hands-on work using the best of breed DevOps tooling and practices. Some major projects included:• Automating the creation of an entire Cloudera Hadoop cluster using AWS CloudFormation, Ansible, Jenkins and the Cloudera Director for a large logistics company for a critical big-data project. Environments were spun up and down using Jenkins jobs on-demand.• Designing the security for a Google Cloud Platform based Big-Data platform for a big-four bank that used BigQuery and Kubernetes.• Set up an Azure based HDInsight (Hortonworks Hadoop) and data processing setup using Infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Azure Resource Manager templates and Ansible) for a large Australian energy company, and led them through their first Cloud journey using best practices around automation and DevOps.• Set up a CI/CD pipeline in Atlassian Bamboo for a mobile application for a government health department, using SauceLabs for application testing.• Attended AWS re:Invent 2018 in Las Vegas

Since 2004, Oxygen has been a consistent winner of SAP “Best Implementation” awards.My role is centered around SAP Hybris on AWS & Linux, and involves designing, building and maintaining secure, scalable AWS infrastructure for Hybris with an emphasis on automation. I work with numerous developers both offshore and onshore, and help them streamline their deployments. I had worked to completely re-write their entire CI/CD delivery (from infrastructure to application deployments) from scratch, replacing their legacy stacks and scripts, and instead taking the best of AWS (CodePipeline, CodeBuild, Jenkins slaves on ECS, CodeDeploy on dev instances, KMS/Parameter Store, SSM, and CloudFormation, and replaced Puppet with Ansible for cleaner configuration management.I worked with developers to introduce Blue/Green deployments for the SAP Hybris platform using Jenkins Pipelines, that manages the creation of parallel CloudFormation stacks that had the updated code tied to a generated schema, switching the DNS to their stacks when requested, and deleting old stacks.I had also written a serverless web interface on my spare time to manage multi-region Hybris demos in AWS Lambda/API Gateway using Python, which helped reduce their monthly AWS demo bills considerably and empowered developers & project managers to manage demos themselves rather than relying on the person on-call.

Integra Technologies is a Red Hat Advanced Partner that focuses on Linux and AWS based solutions for enterprises in the UAE and elsewhere in the Middle East. It was awarded the Service Delivery Award during a Red Hat Partner Road Tour in Egypt, 2012. I joined in this Linux centric company enthusiastically as a System Engineer and eventually became the lead Senior Systems Architect. My responsibilities were extensive, and I was involved in all phases of our relationships with our clients, starting from getting a detailed technical view of their needs, designing solutions that revolved around Linux, and then either overseeing or directly handling the implementation. I also ensured that our technical support team were prompt and accurate when responding to our customers, and got involved in particularly difficult support cases directly. I also provided training for many of my clients when needed.Some of the projects I've handled include:⚫ Dubai Airport Terminal 3 - Replaced an overloaded Windows Server DHCP/DNS server overnight with an RHEL5 DHCP/DNS cluster, with on-site written scripts to generate the DHCP configuration files. An identical setup was requested and successfully implemented for the Jebel Ali Al Maktoum Airport network two years later.⚫ Etisalat - Set up around 70 RHEL HP DL380 servers for a Genesys IVR implementation and configured 14 clustered Apache Tomcat servers. Also set up numerous Red Hat clusters for various applications and Oracle databases. ⚫ Axiom Telecom - Set up a multi server Zimbra 8 Linux email server setup for 4000 users; which replaced a Postfix/Cyrus/OpenLDAP based Linux based email server that we were previously supporting. ⚫ Hamdan bin Mohammed Smart University - Redesigned their critical e-Learning platform and improved load times by several seconds. as well as projects for GlaxoSmithKline, Qatar's Ministry of Information, Omantel, etc.
