I designed a component of the World Bank funded $400 million Higher Education Development in Pakistan (HEDP) project. The component aims, among other things, to automate the business processes of a significant number of low IT-maturity universities by putting into place low-cost student lifecycle and back-office automation solutions so that the service delivery and data quality at the universities could be enhanced. Ongoing and Recent Engagements:Cintana Education: I provide Pakistan-specific, tertiary level education (both general and medical education) related information/support/advice to this Arizona State University owned company.Oxford Policy Management: Related to health information systems in the primary and secondary health care area.International Finance Corporation (IFC): Technical support for the Digital for Tertiary Education Program (D4TEP).The Palladium Group: Engaged as Data Management and Governance Expert for providing Technical Support in Designing Health Data Information Conceptual Framework and Operational Roadmap for the Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department of the Punjab Government.

The position reported to the Chairman of the Board. I was responsible for government initiatives in the areas of health, judiciary and citizen-centric services. Led a plethora of projects in the areas of primary, secondary and tertiary healthcare: rollout of Hospital Information Management System in 33 (thirty-three) secondary care hospitals. Worked closely with Chief Justice Lahore High Court for the implementation of rule-based case flow management system based on the Oracle Siebel CRM platform; the system was rolled out for 40 high court benches at Lahore; benches in Rawalpindi, Multan and Bahawalpur were to follow. Headed the Internationally acclaimed Citizen Feedback Monitoring Programme (the subject of a case study at Princeton; recipient of International coverage by publications such as the Economist and Foreign Policy Magazine; and rolled out by the World Bank in Albania recently). Served on the board of Punjab Health Initiative Management Company that was responsible for provision of Health Insurance to the poorest of the poor.

Three month assignment as the Interim Chief of ICTSS at UNECA. Responsible for providing the organization support in the following areas: Carrying out an internal assessment to determine the IT maturity of organization; help recruit staff against vacant posts; draw up a workplan to help the organization implement its current ICT strategy and provide support for the impending rollout of Umoja: a global SAP-based ERP solution.Took three month leave of absence from PITB to take up this assignment.

Responsible for managing the offshore development and support centers for this IT Consulting, Enterprise Application Services and Product Support entity. Primarily responsible for IT services related to the higher education domain centered around Oracle/PeopleSoft Campus Solutions. Led multi-location product development teams to design, implement, support and scale existing applications. Concerned mainly with creating, and maintaining, high performance teams and for growing their professional capabilities through internal development and external recruitment of top talent. Involved with business development as well as maintaining and enhancing relationship with existing clients.

The position entailed taking on a leadership role concerning the inward and outward looking functions of this premier IT services company. The outward looking role concerned itself with all aspects of program and project management related to ERP (Finance, Procurement, Inventory, HRMS and Business Intelligence) implementation and delivery for customers located in US, Middle East and Asia Pacific; interacting with potential, and existing, clients inside and outside the country; making presentations, participating in trade shows and contributing to the IT industry in the country using the platform of relevant professional bodies. The inward looking role entailed working as part of the senior management team in ensuring quality in operations and contributing in policy and strategy formulation.

Six month consultancy to recommend an interim corporate-wide solution for OCHA till the rollout of Umoja (http://umoja.un.org/display/umoja/Home). The solution was to be deployed in both of OCHA's headquarters (Geneva and New York) and in over forty country offices worldwide. I took a six month leave of absence from my position at Techlogix to work on this consulting opportunity that ended on July 31 2012.

Director IT, Planning and CoordinationProject Manager for PeopleSoft Campus Solution, Siebel OnDemand and HRMS implementations at the University; led the initiative for effective deployment of Microsoft SharePoint Portal for document management, business workflow automation and knowledge management; tasked with looking at different operational areas to recommend improvement through process changes; collecting, generating, analyzing, maintaining, and disseminating institutional data and information to administrative and academic units for University-wide planning and decision making; contributed to the preparation of annual and long-term business plans for the University

Responsible for providing Information Systems/Information Management/Information Technology support to 25 Country offices of UNDP in the Asia Pacific region. Provide IT strategy direction and advisory service to UNDP country offices; involved in e-documentation/Knowledge Management strategy for the region; responsible for carrying out business needs analysis of country offices; involved in both roll out of, and training on, ERP (PeopleSoft); responsible for IT capacity building of country offices through Information Management Planning, IT support missions and needs assessment.

Headed the operations of the Lahore-based software development centre of, now defunct, Vroom Technologies Inc. A Denver-based CRM product developer for the US Telecommunication sector. Fully responsible for the non-technical (HR, Finance and Administration) and technical (software coding, database and architecture, systems support, configuration management, testing and quality assurance) operations. The job entailed direct supervision of seven line managers and managing an operation of over 80 staff members.

Assisted UNDP Pakistan, Iran; Myanmar and Thailand offices in information management and technology appraisal; formulating information management plans; supporting an internal information management structure; monitoring the implementation of state-of-the-art information and communications infrastructure. Assisted UNDP Pakistan in the following: development of Internet and Intranet sites; played a key role in the Business Process Re-engineering exercise carried out by the office; implemented a number of home-grown and corporate client-server transaction processing applications; set up UNDP Pakistan as an Internet service provider to all UN agencies in the country.

Managed the computer resource department consisting of hardware and systems software, application software development and user support groups; installed and supervised a multi-platform 300 user node networks. Assisted in achieving Internet connectivity for LUMS in 1995, the first academic institution to do so in Pakistan.

Managed a branch office of one of the top five IT companies in Pakistan. Supervised the activities of a disparate group of professionals and assistants. Prepared budgets outlined business plans and looked after prospects and customers.

Managed the hardware and systems software group. Gained experience in minicomputer based wide and local area networking, distributed databases and data communication. Was involved in the computerization of Pakistan ordnance factories and Pakistan railways.

Responsible for providing hardware, system and application software support for products ranging from PCs to Data General Superminis. Gained valuable experience in xbase languages, microcomputer based LANS and development of business software.

Involved in the design and development of a microprocessor based industrial controller. Got exposure to HP 64000 microprocessor development system and Unix operating system.

Work involved qualification testing, reliability monitoring through production and failure analysis of dynamic RAM controllers. Qualified the Intel 8208.

Responsible for maintenance and trouble shooting of a wide range of specialized digital and analog oil well logging equipment.
