Records to Report - Lease Accounting Sep 2019 – Nov 2020 o Reviewing the leasing contracts and evaluate if contracts are eligible for lease accounting.o Coordinating between the key stake holders globally and Controllership team in case of discrepancies in the lease contracts.o Review of Lease amortization schedules and escalating to the Controllership team in case of any discrepancies.o Ensured the completeness and accuracy of Fixed Assets sub ledger and month-end closing activities.o Review of Lease account reconciliations performed by the team members and approving them in the Cadency tool.o Submission of Balance Sheet reconciliations of Lease accounts in the Cadency tool.o Identifying the leases which need to be Capitalized and record them in the Fixed Assets register.o Identifying the leases which need to be retired and retire them in the Fixed Assets register.o Extracting the Depreciation run report of the leases and providing them to the stake holders.o Analysis of reconciling items and following up with the controllership team to clear them.o Review and providing the variances analysis comments for the balance sheet accounts.o Successfully implemented Master Data file of Lease contracts to avoid duplications.o Suggested the process improvements where ever there is a scope and successfully implemented them.o Worked as a subject matter expert on lease accounting, prepared financial analysis for various reports like Cash flow and Debt analysis.o Ensured processes and controls in line with audit requirements and maintained proper audit trail and documentation for internal and external audits and reviews.
