Project ManagerPowersoft19 Nov 2018 - Feb 2020Lahore, PakistanI was the key person for the client liaison on daily basis using video conferences, phone calls, Slack, Skype etc. I prepared cost estimates and project plans, defined priorities and schedules for multiple project streams, managed day-to-day development tasks of the team, facilitated team members for smooth project execution by removing blockages, ensured on-time deliverables to clients, and deployed completed projects on the client premises. I also selected required software tools and hardware equipment according to project needs. I managed 4 different teams using SCRUM and LEAN methodologies.1. High Current System AutomationI created a system architecture for automating the thermal and electrical tests for a U.S. based leading manufacturer of smart power flow control devices and lead a team of 7 engineers to implement and deploy first version within 5 months from start of project.2. Hardware Inspection AutomationA team led by me developed and deployed the first version of the solution that performs function inspection of different PCBs (Printed Circuit Boards) at block level by applying and measuring precise signals on client’s premises in March 2019. Later, I visited Jabil Hungary in July – August 2019 to deploy the automated inspection system on their PCB manufacturing line. Currently my team is working to integrate INGUN Test Fixtures according to Jabil’s requirements. -
System Architect / Team LeadPowersoft19 May 2015 - Oct 2018Lahore, PakistanI designed customized, cost effective and robust Automated Solutions for process automation and verification and validation according to client’s requirement including selection of appropriate software & hardware tools. I also developed new frameworks for new products and adapt the existing framework design to updated requirements.1. Sensors Lab AutomationI led a team of 4 engineers who developed an automation solution for gas sensors lab tests. This project was completed in 6 months and deployed in one week. The main features of this projects are automation of WATLOW temperature controllers and Mass Flow Controller. The application displays and stores real-time data for up to 8 sensors at 1 sample / second for up to 8 hours.2. Automated Language Translations VerificationI led the development of automated verification of translations of message strings and icons for 10 international languages against English language for gas detection devices. The project was delivered in 2 months with a team of 3 engineers. OCR and template matching were used to read and analyze text and icons. The application was developed using .Net technologies3. Mathematical Model-based Sensor SimulatorsI led a team of 3 developers to develop a mathematical model-based sensors simulator for toxic and non-toxic gas sensors. The first set of four sensors was simulated in two and half months and later other sensors were added. The simulator was developed using .Net technologies and frontend was developed in WPF.

I dealt with automation of desktop tools used to configure remote control devices for material handling, mining and rail industries.1. Material Handling Devices AutomationI worked in a team of 4 members to automate the functioning of hand-held remote controls of material handling and mining industry applications e.g. Cranes. The automation was done with hardware in the loop concept where actual hardware was interfaced to a PC using DAQ cards including digital I/O, analog I/O, SPI bus control and sniffers, I2C DAQs, programable power supplies and function generators. The solution was initially developed in C / C++ and later moved to C#. Major features include:• Provide inputs to the actual hardware and reading output using DAQ cards• API for reading SPI based LCD of Operator Control Unit• Identified hardware interfaces between embedded devices and DAQ Cards• Verification of automation source code, hardware modification procedures, and documentation• Analysis for automated test reports to identify bugs in safety critical embedded firmware before field trials
