Led development of capital plan (five-year projection), budget and forecasts. Collaborated with Middle and Small Group Business, Actuarial Pricing and Corporate Actuarial, to develop assumptions for all financial statement line items. Provided financial support for launch of Enterprise Ancillary Business strategy for BCBSM offerings (hospital recovery, personal accident, long-term care, critical illness, short- and long-term disability, term life) through our subsidiary LifeSecure, and partnerships with Assurity Life and Dearborn National Life.

Prepared and presented business segment analysis presentations on financial results to senior management on a monthly basis. In addition to high-level commentary on segment results, the monthly run-rate (“true” financial margin by backing-out prior year adjustments) was discussed by segment.-Coordinated the input of several ledger entries with accounting monthly, including membership, drug rebate accruals and commissions, reviewed income statement to ensure entries are booked correctly and identified any possible abnormalities; discussed and explained significant or unique entries at monthly meetings with accounting and finance management-Supported Finance in the understanding of actuarial reserves and interpreting the income statement; provided explanations for changes in reserves monthly-Formally reviewed internal controls performed for Model Audit Rule (MAR) compliance; worked with internal MAR team to ensure that the correct and most efficient controls were being tested; attended monthly executive oversight committee meetings on behalf of director and reported back on current happenings-Led the distribution of the 2010 Customer Savings Refunds (CSR) which returned over $50M in claim adjustments (including drug manufacturer rebates, national litigation recoveries and hospital settlements) back to our ASC/ASO subscriber groups; worked directly with sales managers and underwriters to coordinate all ad-hoc requests relating to the CSR distribution-Managed and coached team members on work responsibilities/priorities and development; contributed to annual review

-Prepared the Blue Care Network reserve note monthly for senior leadership that discussed and analyzed the IBNR (incurred but not reported) calculation; met monthly with the CFO of BCN and other management to discuss the reserve level-Calculated the Rate Stabilization Reserve (RSR) monthly and performed all recasts and reconciliations regarding the reserve; performed sensitivity testing annually around the IBNR allocation within the RSR calculation-Completed a two-month rotation with Actuarial Pricing; assisted with analysis on experience rated formulas and support for new formula proposal-Passed SOA/CAS Examinations: P/1, FM/2, MLC and FAP: Interim Assessment; fulfilled all VEE requirements
