This position was sales target driven, focussed on maintaining and growing the business market share. I was responsible for maintaining and managing existing customer relationships as well as seeking new business opportunities where possible.I provided sales advice for all customer water treatment requirements, and covered the lower North Island region. There was a mix of design of new systems, servicing of existing installations, as well as regular merchandising and sales call cycles. Working in conjunction with company offices in Wellington and Auckland, I would oversee water treatment solutions for retail stores, industrial companies and rural/farm customers.

I was employed under the structured Graduate development Scheme and based within the NZ Rail infrastructure maintenance contract. Through this position I was been able to develop my people management and leadership skills in an Operations Support role. I directly oversaw two work teams and was responsible for their target driven performance. In addition I assisted with the implementation of a Capacity Planning system, to schedule and manage maintenance work across multiple work groups.I undertook other tasks as required, including technical analysis of rail incidents, civil measuring of bridge levels and track wear inspections, undertaking track stability analysis and participating in employment interview and discipline processes. I attended courses in project management, adult education, rail safety and obtained a full class 2 heavy traffic license.

Water Systems specialised in designing new water treatment solutions, and the role of Project Engineer included varied duties. Projects ranged from public swimming pool complexes, water features and waste treatment to City Council drinking water treatment plants. The role comprised both office and site based content, including 4 months in based Fiji during construction of a new water treatment plant.
