I'm currently one of ABC NT's supervising producers of TV and video, preparing the 7pm news bulletins and live coverage for the ABC News Channel. This can also involve the weekly national news program ABC Regional.

I'm an experienced freelance journalist, covering covered print, online, broadcast and science communication, with previous bylines in The Guardian, AAP, Fairfax/Nine, Crikey, Asian Correspondent, and ABC News among others. I covered the 2014 military coup from Northern Thailand, the state budgets for the NT and WA, and produced/narrated a science documentary which aired internationally. I'm open to news-of-the-day and feature reporting commissions.

Wrote and presented regular news bulletins for popular Perth station 96fm, which is part of the nationwide ARN Radio family. The key challenge of the role is driving the news agenda forward in a resource-limited newsroom, requiring fast, clear writing and a broad knowledge of Western Australian issues.

I was a radio newsreader across the vast, brown Northern Territory. From truckers behind the wheel of 170ft "road trains"; to boaties casting a line on croc-infested waters; to the cultural melting pot of Darwin, my broadcasts reach a diverse audience across 1/6th of Australia's landmass. But you'll have to get up nice and early to catch my first broadcast: I'm on air from 0530 sharp on ABC Radio Darwin, Radio National and across ABC digital stations.

I was the utility back of ABC Darwin's local radio team, guiding content for programs across the day, as required. Primarily I was at home on the Mornings program, which airs from 8:30am weekdays, and drives the conversation with politics, and local Darwin stories. At ABC Darwin I've chased the Commonwealth Games baton through the suburbs of Palmerston; given live updates while slightly lost on an orienteering course; and helped produce a surprise, in-studio dance lesson for host Adam Steer to find its feet.

Multiplatform journalist and broadcaster with ABC Regional in the unofficial capital of north Queensland. As a reporter, producer and newsreader I covered a devastating cyclone, the highs and lows of a North Queensland Cowboys season, ending in grand final defeat. I snapped pics during the English cricket team's pre-Ashes tour match, where players got to know a croc or two. And I even spent an unforgettable day on a US warship.

Tatoli is Timor-Leste's relatively new (2016) government-funded news outlet, reporting online and on Youtube. I was tasked with introducing English language news for the first time, with an eye on audiences around the globe, and to help modernise Tatoli's news service. It currently enjoys a strong reputation among white-collar Timorese, especially Portuguese-speakers. But the challenge is to reach out high into Timor's mountains to reach people in isolated communities, and help combat viral misinformation that has contributed to internal turmoil in recent years.

Reporting for the highly-successful half-hour local news service. The small Seven team leads the market in providing up-to-date news each weeknight, and through their rapidly growing social media presence. I was responsible for politics, agriculture and social affairs reports. Most notably:-- sustained coverage of the Defence Force's proposed acquisition of farmland near Charters Towers;-- and consistent, accurate reporting on the month-long Herbert election recount.

I shoot and produce current affairs packages for 'The World' program on ABC News 24 on news from Southeast Asia.

As a newsreader with SYN I wrote and presented bulletins across the news day from half-hourly updates from 7-9am to the drive shift from 4-6pm. In 2013 along with a colleague, and in conjunction with the Executive Producer who liaised from overseas, I developed a successful pilot extended news program aired at 4pm, three days a week. For this role I acted as producer and panel operator, collaborating with a rotating roster of newsreaders. This project expanded SYN's coverage to a 30 minute slot, requiring both producer and newsreader to produce more extended script with broader coverage of issues.

As EP of News, I managed a roster of 25-30 newsreaders who presented 15 bulletins a week on SYN's FM station. In this role I recruited, trained and supervised new reporters, and received training in broadcast codes, statutes, and technical operations. In addition, I monitored broadcasts and provided feedback on content and presentation technique.

Reporting for SYN's Flagship Current Affairs show, Panorama, I covered news and issues affecting young people in the Melbourne area

Assisted with the planning department in shaping the network's Americas coverage with input into daily meetings, supporting correspondents in the field and on location in Washington DC, as well as developing independent story ideas and pitches.Researched pieces on: a subterranean drug-smuggling tunnel in New Mexico; Syria's chemical weapons stockpiles, working with the White House correspondent; pharmaceutical drug trails in Guatamala; and factory closures in rural Illinois, where I provided data and lined up interviews for AJE's Chicago correspondent.

From the Washington bureau of CNS, I covered the business and transportation beat, as well as filing reports on the US Senate race in Maryland, where Senator Ben Cardin successfully defended his seat. As part of my duties at CNS I joined a team of student bloggers at the Newspaper Association of America's 2012 conference, reporting on media industry innovations as well as President Barack Obama's address to the annual AP luncheon. Capital News Service is a student-powered news organization run by the Philip Merrill College of Journalism at the University of Maryland. For three decades, CNS has provided deeply reported, award-winning coverage of issues of import to Marylanders.
