Ryan is a finance and investment professional with a track record of superior performance in private equity and investment management. At RJ Boyd Holdings, Ryan leads investment activities across real estate investments and entrepreneurial acquisitions. Ryan also serves as a consultant for DWO Ascent, an investment syndicate, and Iterative Ascent, a consulting firm, and Avenir Hospitality, a real estate private equity firm. Prior to these ventures, Ryan was a Senior Associate at Whitman Peterson focusing on underwriting and asset management of investments across various sectors including multifamily, outdoor lodging, traditional hospitality and senior living. Ryan’s responsibilities in prior roles at the firm have also included new strategy due diligence, marketing, portfolio management, investor reporting and valuation. Prior to joining Whitman Peterson, Ryan was an Associate at Oaktree Capital Management. At Oaktree, Ryan focused on corporate finance activities including financial modeling, departmental profitability forecasting of investment fund performance, Board of Director quarterly reporting, Senior Leadership Council monthly reporting, budgeting, quarterly investor reporting, and annual credit rating agency presentations. Prior to joining Oaktree, Ryan completed the Risk Management Program at GE Capital, a two-year credit training program where he was focused on underwriting and evaluating middle market transactions, primarily in the leveraged finance space. The program is designed to build credit-risk talent that is structured for high-achieving undergraduates possessing a strong quantitative and analytical background. The program consists of on-the-job experience gained through multiple rotations that provide an opportunity to work in real-life, real-time business environments. Under the guidance of an assignment leader, RMPs learn credit underwriting, portfolio management, workout and restructuring, risk analytics and regulatory aspects of risk management within GE Capital businesses while interacting with senior risk management leaders.
