I love sales, but I hate selling myself. Here are 5 quick things about my professional career.1. Over the last 25 years I have had the opportunity to work with some of the coolest financial firms, casinos, schools, sports bars, and retailers to create unique visual displays using digital signage and ticker displays.2. I got started with digital signage in an unusual way. I was a 19 year old, bored college student that applied for an entry level manufacturing position at Daktronics (the scoreboard guys). That turned into a sales internship. Then I wrote a business plan for my entrepreneurial studies class to create a LED stock ticker product. As luck would have it that class project ended up on the CEOs desk and I was offered the job.3. After 5 years focused on hardware I decided to move over to the software side at Rise Vision where I invested 20 years selling and marketing web based software tools to drive display technology (tickers, touch screens, video walls, etc).4. I have always found the financial markets interesting. I take great pride in seeing our displays livening up a trading floor or in a classroom teaching financial literacy to the next generation. Through Rise Display we make it easy for our clients to get quality, reliable solutions (hardware, software, and data).5. For over 5 years I have been involved with the Digital Signage Federation (DSF), a non profit voice for the industry. Through the DSF I have interacted with some of the greatest minds in our industry to create an online education platform that helps share knowledge with newcomers to digital signage. Here is how I sum up my job. I help people use display technology to create spaces that customers stop and say “wow”.
