On contract for HMSHost; I accepted a full time position with HMSHost in September 2016.Highlights:♦ Worked with business partners to deploy secure and PCI compliant POS solutions.♦ Responsible for securing the HMSHost cardholder data environment across 300+ field sites and two data centers.♦ Evaluated leading security products and implemented proof of concepts to ensure value.♦ Maintained Sourcefire IDS, helping to detect threats within the HMSHost network.♦ Developed forensic imaging process for incident response.♦ Verified security controls on an annual basis as part of PCI audit.

I maintained Medicare Part A and Part B COBOL pricing programs integral to the Medicare claims processing system in addition to other duties.Highlights:♦ Maintained COBOL Pricers on an IBM mainframe.♦ Assisted in transitioning PC Pricers from Merant Micro Focus COBOL to Fujitsu NetCOBOL and Flexus SP2 (used for the GUI front-end).♦ Assisted the division's ISSO in writing and reviewing FISMA compliant security policies for a Medicare project.♦ Supported development team through detailed application documentation and act as a liaison between the division, other CM/CMS staff, and stakeholders.♦ Through staff interviews, developed new Windows 7 compatible software in C# .NET for the maintenance of the Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System (HCPCS) SQL database.♦ Coordinated with the Office of Information Services (OIS) and Lockheed Martin technical and managerial staff to set-up direct file transfer to the CMS mainframe and to acquire mainframe UNIX account.♦ Developed prototype Java implementation of the Hospice Pricer capable of being run on multiple platforms including mainframe UNIX and Windows. Also developed a Java front-end to be used as a PC Pricer.

I developed and maintained database driven web applications primarily using Microsoft technologies such as Microsoft Visual Basic .NET and Microsoft SQL Server. Secondary duties included researching, designing, and building advanced infrastructure solutions including a VMware ESXi server solution, Microsoft CRM, redundant IIS 7 web servers, and redundant Microsoft SQL Servers. Further duties included building and deploying custom white box servers for clients, including on-site delivery.

At Tanager, I worked as an I.T. Consultant to provide a range of professional information services to firms such as NASA, Marriott, and HMSHost. Selected Highlights:♦ Oversaw daily administration of the tanagerinc.com domain.♦ Developed a series of KornShell scripts in a Sun Solaris environment to automatically run Java code, securely zip and encrypt the output, and then send two e-mails containing the zip file and password to our government client.♦ Developed an automated process to remotely image company laptops using Microsoft Windows Deployment Server (WDS) / Remote Installation Services (RIS) and Microsoft Visual Basic scripts (VBScript).♦ Selected to work on the NASA Consolidated Active Directory (NCAD) project where I supported and worked with NASA employees to migrate their Apple OS X computers from the old center specific NASA HQ domain to a new, centralized domain.♦ Independently developed a custom application to automate domain migration related tasks resulting in increased customer satisfaction and a savings in time and money.♦ Assisted in the installation of new servers in the Tanager North data center.♦ Troubleshooted and configured Microsoft Office Communications Server (OCS, now Lync). Utilizing advanced knowledge of of OCS and computer networking principles, configured the OCS XMPP Gateway server to facilitate external communications.♦ Selected, installed, and configured Zenoss Core to monitor simple network management protocol (SNMP) capable devices connected to the tanagerinc.com domain, allowing network administrators to be automatically notified in the event of a device failure.♦ Developed a Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) script to scan for and delete suspected credit card numbers potentially stored on point of sale (POS) computer systems.♦ Developed an automated upgrade process from Windows XP to Windows 7 for a Fortune 500 client.
