Senior Researcher (Information Security)
CurrentA new focus of mine is what I call "Human Semantics": the art/science that deals with how people (mis)understand each other, what they can do to minimize time/effort spent on (correcting) misunderstandings, and prevent them from happening. The idea is to make collaborations (e.g. in projects) easier, and increase the percentage of texts that readers actually understand rather than needing to 'hallucinate' what authors intended to say.I'm also active in the 'Self-Sovereign Identity' arena for a few years now, starting TNO's 'ssi-lab', leading TNO's vision on SSI and where it is going, which is also used in [eSSIF-Lab](https://essif-lab.github.io/framework/docs/essifLab). I helped create its mental models and terminology, and now make similar contributions to the Trust over IP foundation (https://trustoverip.org/).Before that, I did Governance, Risk Management and Security architectures for integration of processes, (web)services, etc. with a focus on identity management and access control. In particular interested in formal underpinnings and making them work in the practice of large organizationsIn 2017, I also focused on (the pros and cons of) using blockchains in business information processes, and contributed to (formal underpinnings of) a Self-Sovereign Identity Framework (SSIF).
