As a Machine Learning Engineer I curate language data for acoustic models to train and iterate on those models. I evaluate those models to address customer requirements and internal goals. I diagnose and triage ASR issues and work cross-functionally to work towards solutions. I work on automated systems to improve the quality of our training data while reducing cost.

When I transitioned to Senior Linguistic Engineer, ASR, I became the acoustic engineer for several languages. I curated the data for use by the models, applied SOA techniques to the model recipes, and ran the training. I developed custom evaluation and benchmark analysis tools to help guide that model training. I also implemented automated systems to enhance issue triaging, reduce cost, and improve training quality.

As a Linguistic Engineer, I worked with all parts of the ASR pipeline to diagnose and triage issues to the appropriate teams with suggestions for possible solutions. I joined in collaboration with the Acoustic Modeling team to apply semi-supervised learning techniques. I developed tools to assist with targeted training and regularize raw data.

While I was an English Language Specialist, I utilized my linguistic knowledge to advice and collaborate with engineers to address English phonetic issues and coordinate vocabulary curation. I worked with corpora to evaluate quality and apply QA standards to training data.
