Robert Kaufman followed up a 12-year run as a freelance award-winning photojournalist with commissions from publications including Time, People, Newsweek, Sports Illustrated, and Forbes, plus corporate clients such as Bank of America, McKesson, and AT&T, to focus attention on founding and publishing Northern California’s first monthly golf publication, Golf Today, in 1987. Within two years, the National Golf Foundation awarded the publication first place for Excellence in Local and Regional Golf Journalism and the Northern California PGA recognized Robert, Publisher/Editor of Golf Today, as Media Person of the Year. The ACGI rotates throughout the U.S. to showcase well-known and undiscovered golf destinations while combining destination education with a fun, friendly, President’s Cup/Ryder Cup-style golf competition where players (and even non-players) are welcome!

It was the 'go-to' source for the best golf courses, resort accommodations and related activities throughout California. Programs included an annual golf guide publication, sponsorship programs and editorial/video opportunities
