Performed analysis and evaluated business processes for Pitkin County’s elected officials and their staff. Responsibilities included budgeting, business case planning, defining system requirements, proposing solutions, resource utilization and coordinating the implementation and integration of applications and modern technology. I was also primary contact and administrator of several public safety related services and oversaw the technical responsibilities of our network services provider. • Oversaw the technical requirements for the network services at our new 911 dispatch center in Aspen, Colorado. An 8-month, $1.6 million-dollar project. • Established Colorado’s first online scheduling system for County Board of Equalization hearings. • Led efforts to extend our fiber network infrastructure to new facilities in Aspen as part of a major renovation project. This saved us nearly $30,000 / annually compared to using leased line options.

I was the project manager for overseeing Pitkin County’s efforts to separate our physical network services from the City of Aspen. This was a 3-month, $570,000 project. We moved over 40 servers, 280 workstations, 35 access points, 30 switches and over 300 phones to a new domain that was now being managed directly by Pitkin County staff and vendors.

I was responsible for the administration and desktop support of the Public Safety Network in Pitkin County Colorado. This included 7 different public safety organizations within the County with over 100 end users. This network was comprised of multiple servers, switches and firewalls that was housed within the Pitkin County Jail in Aspen, CO. It included 60 laptops, 10 desktops, over 100 mobile devices and 40 security cameras. I also maintained the primary CAD system (Spillman), managed the 911 phone system (CenturyLink) and was the administrator of the Pitkin County Jail security system.

Managed all aspects of the Recording Department within the Pitkin County Clerk and Recorder’s office. Our primary responsibility was handling all land records and marriage licenses in Pitkin County. I also provided technical support for all departments within the office and was project manager for several technical related implementations within the office, including new hardware and software applications. Specific responsibilities included scheduling and assigning work, establishing priorities, training staff, employee performance review, interview and hire employees and I oversaw the maintenance, operations and upgrades to the Recording Department’s database application.

I was data entry specialist with the County’s CAMA database application, which contained over 24,000 parcel records for the Assessor’s Office in Crawford County, KS. This included updating over 300 fields of data for each real and commercial property within the county. I interacted with the public daily, ran selective reports, entered ongoing data changes and printed off comparable data sheets for our local realtors, appraisers and taxpayers.

I was responsible for the repair, support, training and asset management of all 1st, 2nd and 3rd generation Windows based tablets manufactured by Xplore Technologies. This included nearly 12,000 units worldwide. I managed a staff of 7 A+ certified technicians. We maintained repairs on hard drives, CPU and memory modules, wireless adapters, LCD replacements and board level component repairs. I had to establish and maintain and in-depth repair database on all units, including parts inventory and shipping logistics data.

I was a project manager for Xplore Technologies in the Southeast Region of the United States Xplore was (is) one of the industry leaders in rugged mobile tablet technology. I would analyze client needs and then worked with our sales department to order the necessary tablets, vehicle and desktop equipment. I was responsible of the post-sale deployment of our products, which included the installation of the mounting equipment, the wireless communication equipment, GPS devices and other peripherals. I would troubleshoot and resolve on-site technical problems and provide written and verbal feedback to our staff in Austin, TX (Xplore’s headquarters).

I was responsible for enforcing state and local laws and protecting and serving the citizens of Pittsburg, Kansas. I was a first responder, assisted in medical emergencies, arrested and cited violators, involved in accident and criminal investigations and served active warrants. I was also one of the departments certified hostage negotiators. I was extensively involved with the department’s technology resources and helped established our first mobile technology platform by converting standard paper forms to digital based forms and utilizing laptops in our patrol vehicles.
