I graduated from Pittsburg High School in 1991 and attended Pittsburg State University, graduating in 1996 with Bachelor of Science Degree in Sociology. I served as a Law Enforcement officer for 5 years for the City of Pittsburg, Kansas. In 2002 I went to work for Austin based Xplore Technologies. I was a Project Manager / Field Engineer in the Southeast Region, working out of Ft. Lauderdale, FL. and then Atlanta, GA. My last year with Xplore I worked directly with The Home Depot (Xplore’s largest customer) and then transferred to Atlanta based Stratix Corporation. In 2007 my wife and I decided to move to Colorado with our children. I started off in the Pitkin County Clerk and Recorder’s Office, as the Recording Supervisor and Application Specialist with their Oncore Recording System. I then moved back into the Public Safety sector, as the Public Safety Technology Support Specialist for the Pitkin County Regional Emergency Dispatch Center. In 2014 I was promoted to Network Coordinator and I managed the work being done by our network services provide where we successfully started operating under our own physical network (previously on City of Aspen network). After that project was completed I took the position of Business Process Analyst for our elected officials. That position provided technical oversight of current and future needs of the Clerk and Recorder, Assessor, Board of County Commissioners and the Sheriff’s offices (including Patrol, Jail and Dispatch). I also continued to oversee the County’s physical network infrastructure and was planning our conduit, fiber, network, AV and security needs of our new County facility before leaving in December of 2016. Quick update (9.26.17) - We've relocated to Hawaii (Oahu) in August 2017. Currently the MIS Manager for the Aloha United Way. Mahalo, rk
