Electrical Engineering Associate
CurrentMaintenance Engineering & Planning- Develop and present business justification of Online Condition Monitoring to engineering management.- Verify data from Online Condition Monitors to confirm wiring installation and data accuracy.- Attend conferences for industry common practices, technological trends and applications, and technical training tracks to share knowledge gained.- Design installations, upgrades, and replacements for subtransmission and distribution power transformers, circuit breakers, transformer LTC controllers, LID switches, and current transformers.- Coordinate various field maintenance, construction, test group, and customer work to meet customer deadlines while overseeing compliance towards NEC, IEEE, and LADWP standards and design practices.- Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for unusual power system occurrences.Receiving Station Design- Design for 34.5kV, SF6 circuit breakers and 34.5kV, 600A series reactors.- Determine feasibility to utilize spare emergency backup generator at an electric substation.- Prepare bill of materials list and verify equipment compatibility for a bench & meter board and substation rack.Regulatory Standards & Compliance- Write a Compliance Manual to facilitate knowledge capture for key compliance functions.- Document process of informing technical groups of approaching NERC regulatory standard enforcement KPIs.- Deliberate with external utilities and internal groups to functionally map interties using WECC terminology.Overhead Transmission Engineering- Design transmission span using engineering handbooks, sag-tension calculations, and Right-of Way guidelines.- Communicate technical transmission line data, bundle information, and tower and hardware specifications.- Verify Plan & Profile diagrams, and determine dead-end equipment compatibility with existing infrastructure.
