I am a senior-level executive in the education sector, working and teaching online. I have been a facilitator, consultant and trainer for schools, districts, universities, corporations, and non-profit groups for over 30 years. My doctoral research led me to a lead consulting and research role at the BC Ministry of Education. I was also on a team that researched distance education for the Alberta government. I have been central in the development of policy, agreements, and e-learning standards as well as led the design and implementation of the Quality Review process for BC online K-12 schools. I presently supervise Masters students for Vancouver Island University and enjoy my role in research for the Canadian eLearning Network (CANeLearn.net).I have designed workshops and training courses and served as a trainer, both online and onsite, for government, non-profit, and corporate organizations after 16 enjoyable years as a teacher and school administrator. My work in the post-secondary sector included the development of a Staff Enhancement Plan and Certification Program for Alberta-North community coordinators. As part of this work, I travelled to numerous rural access sites, reporting on technologies used, online speeds and access needs for remote learning. I also assisted eCampusAlberta with its online program of services to member institutions including online professional development.I obtained a Bachelor's from UBC and a Master's of Education degree from uVictoria. I earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Studies from the University of British Columbia in 2005 researching leadership in computer-mediated learning technologies.
