About Robert J. Lackie

Robert J. Lackie is a Professor-Librarian at Rider University in New Jersey, where he currently co-leads the Online Learning Initiatives and the Research Instruction Program for the Franklin F. Moore Library, and he performs as Acting Department Chairperson for the Katharine Houk Talbott Music Library, Westminster Choir College, Rider University. He also continues to serve as the Education Librarian (liaison to College of Education & Human Services [CEHS]), where he performs liaison duties for undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs within CEHS, while continuing to teach a substantial percentage of our course-integrated, assignment-specific research instruction sessions (traditional in-person and online) within various academic disciplines. Before taking on the role of Department Chairperson, he co-led the Instruction Program for 15 years and served as the Communication Librarian. He has also taught various undergraduate business communications, ID theft prevention, English composition, & public speaking seminars & courses, and undergraduate and graduate library & information science courses, in addition to volunteering as Rider University’s first Faculty-in-Residence from 1998-2002. He currently teaches within the Ronald E. McNair Post-Baccalaureate Achievement Program (sponsored jointly by the United States Department of Education & Rider University).Prof. Lackie has received several accolades for his teaching, writing, leadership, and service. These include the Office of the Governor [2019], “State of New Jersey Meritorious Service Medal,” the Who’s Who [2018] “Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award,” a New Jersey Library Association “2014 Public Relations Award,” the Association of College & Research Libraries New Jersey Chapter “2011 Distinguished Service Award,” the American Library Association “2006 Ken Haycock Award for Promoting Librarianship,” the “2004 Rider University Award for Distinguished Teaching,” and the New Jersey Library Association “2004 Librarian of the Year” award, among others.
