Ryan Lawber is a AIA, LEED AP BD+C at Baker Barrios Architects. He possess expertise in architectural design, design research, sketchup, architecture, autocad and 27 more skills. Colleagues describe him as "Ryan worked hard and remained focused under pressure." and "While a student of mine at SIUC, Ryan was a very dedicated, exceptional (Dean’s List with a consistent GPA of 4.0), naturally gifted, and self-motivated person. He is co-founder and vice-president of an ongoing Registered Student Organization (RSO), which discusses digital imagery and its associated implications in both the profession of architecture and the world at large. In addition to his design endeavors, Ryan coupled architecture with environmental and systems research. In these projects, he synthesized compound levels of cultural, geographical, economical, ecological, contextual, physical, and functional aspects, as well as other implications of architecture and its place-making mode in the greater domain. The projects presented complex societal fabrics and an array of problematic issues that Ryan was able to address from an advanced point of view; interweaving rigorous research on multiple issues into his design solutions and accompanying digital studies. Significantly, he is able to extend architectural discourse across epistemic boundaries to produce rich levels of content as well as viable solutions. Beyond his education, Ryan has proved his knowledge in these reciprocating areas of research and practice by presenting his work in Europe at multidisciplinary peer-reviewed, international conferences on systems thinking, architecture, urban issues, sustainability, and the arts. Ryan has long-term potential in this profession as he indicates a unique understanding for the multi-layered subtleties underlying the conditions for architecture and how these necessarily form our experiences and knowledge. In this, he indicates a sincere caring and a vested interest for the greater domain, a valuable asset in today’s practice.
