About Raymond L.
I am a Manager with a Computing Science background, passionate about people, technology and working with customers. My career started in construction but technology was always my main interest and after fifteen years in construction I enrolled in a Computing Science course at the renowned University of Abertay in Dundee, Scotland. I graduated in 2013 with a first class degree with honours and immediately started a position with Hewlett Packard joining the Mainframe Enterprise Services team. My role at HP as a z/OS Systems Programmer was very technical and required continual growth of my Computing skills in order to provide first class services to our customers in EMEA. In 2016 I decided to accept a position as a Customer Support Engineer in the Netherlands and relocated from Scotland to Amsterdam, joining Precisely Software Inc (formerly Syncsort), the global leader in Data Integrity. I was supporting customers with our Mainframe software solutions continuing to learn and gaining experience in handling complex problems that were impacting our customers business critical production systems.In June 2017, I relocated to the Frankfurt area, working remotely full-time for Precisely and in January 2019 I was promoted to Manager of Customer Support, now leading the team I worked with the past two years.I was promoted again in July 2021 to a more Senior position, still in Customer Support but now leading a much larger team covering support for many of our software solutions across many platforms including IBM i and Mainframe. Since joining Precisely in 2016, I have gained a wealth of experience and as my career has progressed my role has evolved, having been through multiple Mergers and Acquisitions and been involved in several integration projects. As a manager, it is my duty and responsibility to serve my team, removing obstacles to improve job satisfaction and enable the team to provide our customers with the highest standards of support. Today, my passion for technology is still strong and currently I spend my free time studying Data Science and having a lot of fun working with Python :)in November 2022, I started a new position with Starburst Data, continuing to manage people and work with amazing products and technologies.
