Responsible for integrating and maintaining various middleware solutions.My main role was consultancy, which meant frequent customer contact, and assumption of various roles during the lifecycle of a project.A regular project would have a primary sales or account manager do the initial contact, after which I would take over at the first technical pre-sales meeting. This means I would:Discuss and finalize requirements with the customer;Architect the actual proposed solution;Quote and budget the solution;Develop or adapt the software (in C, Perl, Java, whichever was requested by the customer);Implement and integrate the solution into the customers network;Support and maintain the solution.In this way, we implemented and created a large variety of Acision built, or 3rd party soft- and hardware, such as - Non standard SS7 cards;- Aepona RDM systems;- TIBCO auto provisioning system for MMS subscribers;- Fixed Line SMS systems;- Sun Video Delivery platforms;- HP OpenView alarming systems;- Mediation devices towards OFCS systems;- SNCF (French railroads) train announcement system based on SMS;- RADIUS AAA integration for Single Sign On systems for the entire network core.We also developed network design, IP-plans and cabinet layouts, negotiated 3rd party support contracts, and produced Proof of Concept demo’s at customer offices.Acision was divested from LogicaCMG, and bought by Private Equity.
