I am passionate about strengthening the operational capacity of national and international not for profits to help them become financially sustainable and achieve their mission more cost effectively and efficiently. I am a qualified chartered accountant (FCA) with 20 years financial management experience working with and as senior management in Non-profit organisations. Following a successful commercial career in SAP consulting with Andersen Consulting and Audit and Transaction services with PwC, I began working in the non-profit sector in 2002 in a series of senior management roles in large INGOs including being Finance Director of ActionAid. From 2012 I worked for 5 years as an independent consultant and associate consultant with Mango focusing on providing senior management with high level financial strategic advice, leading financial analysis and value for money (VfM) evaluations, providing internal audit, fraud investigations and financial reviews of projects or organizations, and supporting organisations in the development of local policies and systems. In 2017 I joined Mango, which later merged to become Humentum, to head their Consultancy Services. At the time it was a small consultancy providing solely Financial management with around 10 associate consultants northern based. I took over leading Humentum Consultancy services in 2019 with the mission to grow the breadth and reach of our work and make it one of the main pillars at Humentum. 5 years later when I stepped down we had tripled in size by building a growing base of national and international NGO clients, increasing the number of associate consultants to over 60 globally based and the breadth of our expertise to include business development, program and project management, procurement, governance and strategy, donor compliance and risk, and grant management in addition to financial management.
