Been in charge of the Manufacturing Execution System wellness. As part of the engineering team, I have to put my hands on creating custom system add-ons in order to satisfy the rest of the engineering team system demands.I have been participating in the implementation of a brand-new software system for the operation, and have to make sure that the functionality of this new application delivers the same (or better) results than the previous one.

Responsible of maintaining the Manufacturing Execution System (MES) from all perspectives, mainly focused on troubleshooting complex issues. Advised the Jr. BSAs, and been in charge hands-on of high visibility projects.Utilized SQL tools like the Profiler and Decryptor to find issues within stored procedures, functions or tables and correct them permanently. Documented the support cases in a knowledge-base for team members to use when needed.Been managing application projects from the conception phase to the post-implementation support phase. I have developed code in SQL, so that new tables, indexes, stored procedures, functions, jobs, cursors and/or reports in SSRS and queries for Business Objects reports would generate the desired output in an efficient way.Assisted the engineering team from different customers in defining and improving processes for the manufacturing line, from the IT perspective. When the tasks required to modify the core of the application beyond SQL, I had created functional and technical specifications documents and test cases for the Global Implementations team and a regional core app developer to handle the request. Later on, when ready, I had tested them in a sandbox/test environment. Finally, I coordinated the implementation in production.Recently participated in a Kaizen event where a product line was improved. It eliminates the use of paper on the manufacturing line and saves thousands of dollars to the site every month. I created code in SQL to handle this project, including XML feeds, stored procedures and data validation. The company is currently executing a plan to take this new solution to other sites across the globe and I’m contributing as a subject matter expert.

Attended meetings with the customers to understand their needs and address them, from the IT perspective. Handled MES configurations from the end-user perspective. Released software packages to production, including new features and bug-fixes. I was in constant touch with engineering to validate their requests, and any needed changes to the MES in test environments; configured services, validated FTP connections, tested inputs and outputs and confirmed communication. I was directly responsible of the well-performance of critical servers, like:* Label Print Server: To keep it up to date; validating it did automated housekeeping and running scheduled maintenance; also corrective maintenance when necessary.* Automated inventory consumption server: The one dedicated to interact between the ERP and the MES for assembly projects.* Customer owned applications to communicate with the company and get real time data from the units being processed on the manufacturing line.Also queried the MES databases; ran SQL Profilers; validated DTS packages and Jobs from SQL Server 2000. I was part of the escalation path as the 2nd point of contact for operations and assisted the IT shop floor support technicians to maintain the production line up and running when they didn’t have the tools or the skills to correct the problems.

Attended every level 1 support calls for all kinds of IT assistance; I sustained the MES from the end-user level. Was in charge of the production lines hardware and software installation, as well as all of the parts related to the MES. Supported the network infrastructure, setting nodes and PCs into Vlans, port speeds and duplex mode. Connected hosts to the network nodes and to the Cisco switches. Gave preventive and corrective maintenance to Zebra® label printers; created label designs on the Loftware-Design32 software app.
