Performs quality assurance testing to ensures the quality and integrity of complex structural components and mechanical, electrical, electronic, electromechanical, and communications equipment involving both hardware and software. Ensures that all critical systems/components are tested for quality, functionality and robustness. Prepares, and/or oversees the preparation of, site-specific testing procedures and testing program plans for facility and systems contracts. Makes the determination as to when a system or item is ready for testing, or when a partial test is in the best interests of the Authority. Verifies that the MARTA facilities and systems are tested in compliance with contract specifications, governing standards, and in accordance with the MARTA Testing Program Plan (MTPP). Performs Failure and Root Cause Analysis and ensures that defects are identified, recorded, reported, evaluated and retested. Participates in contract meetings to ensure that testing issues are addressed and resolved in a timely manner. May, at the direction of the Manager, supervise the day-to-day activities and work schedules of lower level Test staff and General Engineering Consultants (GEC) Test staff. Performs other related duties as assigned.
