What a time to be selling lumber and building materials in Calgary! This was a fast paced sales position where I was responsible for opening new accounts and managing and building relationships with existing accounts in the New Home and Construction industries. Increasing sales, sourcing product and the supply and expediting of lumber, building materials and engineered roof and floor systems was all part of my daily activities.

During my tenure at Home Depot I held various Leadership and Management positions in all areas of the store including Operations and Merchandising. I was involved in the commissioning of two new stores, Winnipeg in 1999 and Country Hills in 2000 where I was responsible for the scheduling, receiving, and allocation of inventory, fixtures and equipment in excess of 15M within a 12 week time frame. I moved from Operations to Merchandising in 2000 where I managed a number of departments including Paints, Decor, Flooring and Seasonal. The last department I managed was the Seasonal Department where I was responsible for the hiring, scheduling, training and supervision of up to 50 associates. I was also responsible for merchandising, inventory management, executing store and district initiatives as well as driving sales in which I lead the district with sales of over 4M in my last year. I was promoted to a Key Holder position in 2002 where on top of my regular departmental duties, I was responsible for store openings, store closings, cash out, resolving customer complaints and the supervision of 200 associates store wide.
