Evaluation of an opensource CFD code on a helicopter aerodynamics case. The aim of this study was to improve the test ressources of the DGA. My work can be summarized as follows : - Several external aerodynamics studies on a helicopter fuselage via the CFD code OpenFOAM (opensource code written in C++)- Comparison of results with experimental data given by the NASA and results from ANSYS Fluent (Post-processing done with Python)- Use of the Virtual Blade Model (Actuator-Disk) of OpenFOAM to validate the interaction between the rotor and the fuselage. Validation confirmed by experimental data.- Pre-studies and design of a dynamic and static air-inlets on the fuselage. Then studies of distorsion.

This internship takes place in a research project made by the Ocean Monitoring and Prediction Laboratory (OMPL). The purpose of this project is to show the results of Humans Being’s activities on natural events (Tempest occurrence, rising waters, etc.). Those research are only concentrated on the Tampa Bay and Clam Bayou in St Petersburg (Florida, USA).My work can be summarized as follows: - Adapting data from sensors and satellites by Matlab-algorithms- Taking sea-samples from Clam Bayou and comparing with our results.- Bringing help on fixing or replacements on sensors.
