+Visit schools weekly to assist with instruction and lead after school activities for grades k-12+Execute lesson plans that include hands-on gardening activities, discussions, arts and crafts, and games centered around nutrition, community, and environmental stewardship+Work closely with teachers to develop curriculum to best fit the school’s needs+Participate in weekly team meetings to update team members on school progress and plan community events, fundraisers, etc.

As a research assistant for UIUC's Urban Agriculture Research Lab, my responsibilities included:+Manage over 400 crops per site on six different farm locations as part of a study on crop physiological responses across the Chicago metro area+Complete tasks at each site every week including data collection, weeding, watering, harvesting, general maintenance, etc.+Train and direct volunteers, when available, on the method of measurement or harvesting techniques being done that day+Maintain positive relationships and communicate with each site’s cooperator to ensure operations run smoothly

+Assisted with daily gardening tasks, including planting, harvesting, weed pulling, watering, spreading mulch, etc.+Coordinated weekly community workdays+Managed social media platforms in order to garner awareness and support from the local community, as well as to attract local volunteers to our community workdays+Assisted in the acquisition and set-up of a previously empty lot to be used as our second garden location+Taught a series of children's gardening classes that covered everything from gardening basics to specific topics such as bees and companion planting+Contributed to the planning and execution of A Day in Avondale, a local arts festival that Mindful Living co-sponsored

The Outdoor Farming Internship position focused on using intensive and organic production techniques to grow a wide variety of fruits and vegetables to sell to local markets. Responsibilities included:+Assisting with daily maintenance tasks, including planting and maintaining crops, weeding, watering, garden bed preparation, harvesting and preparing crops for market, and tracking data of all system inputs and outputs+In charge of the weekly farm stand that provides a variety of fruits and vegetables grown in our farm, along with baked goods from local bakery tenants+Coordinated bi-weekly volunteer days to ensure maximum efficiency of farm responsibilities throughout the day

+Maintained relationships with current clients by sending feedback surveys via email in order to improve our service. +Assisted clients with making monthly payments as well as answering any insurance-related questions they have.+Created marketing strategies to help expand our client base.+Assisted in office work, such as data entry, answering phones, sending mail, etc.
