As national managing partner of Cohen & Company’s private company services, I am responsible for strategic direction, growth and development related to work with privately and family owned companies; private equity and venture capital groups with investments in private companies; and the shareholders of these organizations.Equally important is my work with clients. I truly enjoy being on-site, helping owners assess their businesses and tackle strategic issues such as growth, employment and working capital. I often serve as a facilitator for many of our clients’ strategic business meetings. In addition, I serve as technical partner on many firm audit engagements and lead small- and large-scope attest engagements, including benefit plan audits for businesses in the manufacturing, professional services, technology and wholesale/distribution industries. I also spend a significant amount of time helping private equity and venture capital firms, as well as portfolio companies, with the intricacies of buy- and sell-side due diligence engagements. My guiding mantra is to be extremely proactive, responsive and collaborative to generate positive results.
