This short term project is a research partnership between the University of Waterloo and Dimplex North America. To prepare data sets for analysis, I learned to program using MATLAB and created a script to combine, repair, and rearrange thousands of data files. Solar Thermal/Advanced Glazings Laboratory

I have developed and validated models to predict the performance of falling film drain water heat recovery systems, operating under steady-state conditions. These models predict the heat transfer rate for variable temperatures and flow rates through the systems.

This co-op placement was a great opportunity for me to refine my AutoCAD skills, and experience working in a small company. I was involved in numerous projects and worked on many CAD drawings.

Worked under supervision of senior engineers to design HVAC and plumbing systems for multiple projects. Design tasks included equipment selection, design evaluation, LEED analysis, report writing and various other engineering related tasks.

Designed and analyzed the HVAC system for a condo. Coordinated design ideas with architects and structural engineers to ensure the quality of the final design.

Created CAD drawings and specs for several new automotive parts that were to be manufactured. Performed cycle time analysis and quality assurance related tasks.
