Miami Dade College is the largest institution of its kind nationwide and confers more associate degrees than any other community college. Its mission is to provide opportunities to those who otherwise would not dare to dream of a better life through education.As Administrative Officer, my role has expanded to include, but not limited to, supervising multiple employees, being appointed as a United Way Ambassador, and mentoring younger employees. I successfully have incorporated key responsibilities of my previous post and remain prepared to handle emerging or emergency assignments as necessary. I have nurtured an efficient and engaging work environment, whereby all members are invested in our common goal. My priority is to ensure that the President’s Office runs smoothly as it fulfills its duties to our students and provides them with every opportunity to attain a degree in higher education.

Provide superior administrative support to the institution’s senior executive, compose correspondence on behalf of the College President, and coordinate events for College and high-ranking officials. In addition, prepare summary materials for the Board of Trustees, co-manage President’s Office support staff and coordinate their work flow as well as analyze/evaluate students’ financial need to determine scholarship eligibility and formulate budget for student book vouchers.Accomplishments:* Ensuring that students have the tools and resources to attain a degree in higher education.* Designing and administering a concise and accurate directory of correspondence with inside/outside sources.

The Miami Herald is a print and media company that is the winner of 22 Pulitzer Prizes.Presided over the daily production of editorial pages, which included selecting letters for publication, editing and verifying facts in letters for Readers’ Forum and Saturday Speakup, designing page layout, writing filler copy as needed. In addition, managed a database of reader comments/correspondence and interacted daily with Publisher, senior management, and Editorial Board.Key Accomplishments:* Created and implemented a concise, efficient, and reliable archiving system that enhanced and streamlined daily production.* Successfully transitioned to a pagination system from a manual design of daily pages.* Supervised the implementation and execution of the six-month centennial project, celebrating Miami's major milestones and rich history.* Youngest person to be named to the Editorial Board to date.
