- Responsible to the VP of Technology for developing the overall system architecture for Unifi's next generation of products. These products are internet- based messaging products including voice, email and fax with web browser front ends. The technical environment is based on distributed objects using CORBA, Java and HTML - Responsible for developing the high level distributed component architecture, working with the President/VP of Product Development, Product Managers, the VP of technology and system engineering team leaders. Worked with the VP of Product Development and the product managers to define overall product strategies as well as the detailed functions and features of each product. - Worked with the VP of technology and R&D system engineering team leaders in the development of all project component impact statements, all component specifications and most component design reviews. - All architectures and models used the Unified Modeling Language (UML) and the Rational Rose modeling tool. Responsible for coordinating the development of Unifi's modeling conventions. - Developed and conducted training classes on Using UML and Unifi's System Architecture. These classes were given to all engineers in R&D, Quality Assurance and Continuing Engineering.A bankruptcy court shut down Unifi. All but a skeleton crew were laid off

Convinced Information Systems (I.S.) management in June of 1994 that the problems were cross-functional, affecting Accounting, Custody, Investments and the Mutual Fund organizations.Consulted with and supported the team designing and developing the Defined Benefit systems while developing a cross-functional data architecture with an I.S. team for all investment data for the firm.Provided consulting support to management and multiple development project teams to ensure consistent / common data architectures with the goal to share databases/tables and code. Facilitated modeling sessions with the Information Systems Division ("ISD") and business personnel. Consulted with a large U.S.-based international custodian bank in the design and development of systems architectures for applications supporting Mutual Fund Administration, and daily Net Asset Value calculations in a multi-layered, client-server environment. Responsible for developing the overall data architectures for the applications and advising management and staff in the subsequen implementation of the data architectures, including reconciling data and object-oriented designs.Consulted with and coached a DMR team designing a client-server based system to perform valuations of a national mutual life insurance company's portfolio. Assisted in the development of the data architecture. Responsible for the functional design and specification of the internal application architecture comprised of Application Program Interfaces (APIs) on PCs, servers and an IBM Mainframe. Also, researched alternatives for version and change control management software.Assisted the Information Resource Management (IRM) group of a large national insurance company in their development of an enterprise data architecture.Advised a development team on the architecture and graphical user interface (GUI) for a system to provide access to the repository information.Consulted with a national retailer in the areas of methodology implementation, enterprise data architecture and enterprise technology architecture. Facilitated a series of workshops in the following areas: - Enterprise Data Architecture, - Internal Information Systems Productivity Improvements, - Replenishment and Allocation as well as - Financial Applications. Responsible for developing ADEPT's software development tools and assisting clients with the design and implementation of effective andefficient interactive systems and their architectures.Consulted with the vice president for information systems and his staff of an internationally known research institute, helping them develop their framework for an application architecture in a "massively heterogeneous" technology environment. Consulted with a large international custodian bank and designed the application architecture of all the on-line CICS systems supporting over 1,400 Fund Accountants. The architecture is still in place today (2009!) supporting their significant growth.
