Over 40 years experience in all aspects of operating a small business with the mission to produce small forged metal component parts for original equipment manufacturers. The short term goal is to channel resources to R&D efforts with the intention of continuing business growth through advanced technology, materials and metallurgical development. The long term goal is to plan for succession of the business to new owners.Prior/additional experience includes purchasing forgings as an employee of GE Aircraft Engine Group, serving on the Board of Directors of the Forging Industry Association, serving on FIA technical and sales committees, and leading or participating in R&D in cooperation with Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL), The National Science Foundation (NSF), The Edison Materials Technology Center (EMTEC), The Forging Industry Education and Research Foundation (FIERF), Colorado School of Mines, Northeastern University, University of North Texas, Ohio University, University of Tenn., Wright State University, and the Ohio State University.Most recent projects: 1. Project to apply HEA coating to forge tooling, 2. Forging experiments with extended temperature capable aluminum alloys, 3. Use of additive manufactured preforms as input to engineered deformation processingSpecialties: Forging, heat treating & metallurgy with specific focus on aluminum alloys and magnetic iron.
