I was responsible for providing procurement technical consultancy advice and support to public and private sector clients and for leading the development of the procurement service offer within New Zealand. This included assisting external clients with procurement transaction management (including procurement planning, procurement options analysis, managing the procurement lifecycle, tendering and evaluation, commercial negotiation etc.), Change Management (including procurement transformation, benefits realisation, stakeholder engagement and communications etc.) and performance improvement (including strategy definition, performance management and innovative procurement).

Operating within the Civil Construction Senior Management Team, I was responsible for providing commercial management of the Civil Construction division, providing quality leadership to bid and tender management, subcontractor management, quantity surveying and administration.

Advising and formulating process for competitive dialogue positioning and subsequently involved in the negotiation of commercial sector bids and solutions throughout the whole procurement process for 3 large scale and technically demanding waste infrastructure schemes (c£1.2bn each). Establishment of vision, mission and KPI’s.

Joined the UK’s leading construction and programme management firm and initiated the market development and deployment of a PFI/PPP advisory service offering. • Strategic business planning, strategic marketing and targeting, programme management and delivery, customer relationship development, market and competitor intelligence, risk analysis and risk management. Advising various public and private sector clients on strategic long term infrastructure projects and traditional programme delivery and methodology. Implemented business systems and control processes.

Joined the Management Consultancy Services Division of this large firm of Accountants and Financial Advisers to complement the existing public and private sector service provision. • Engaged in various short and mid-term strategic commissions advising public and private sector clients on best practice programme and financial procurement and business planning methods.
