CurrentAt Farwest Corrosion I am hands-on in all technical operations, strategic planning, and implementation of IT in order to facilitate day-to-day business operations and ensure consistency, efficiency, and productivity. I oversee the IT team and infrastructure for Farwest’s nationwide footprint which includes 12 locations in 9 states and 300 office, warehouse, and remote users 24/7 and 365 days a year. In my time here I have:Established cyber security policies that focus on risk management, employee training, information privacy, data redundancy, disaster recovery, and infrastructure hardening. This has revamped security to an Ai and API-driven model that has reduced risk by 85% based on an internal audit. Worked closely with senior executives during nationwide expansion moving HQ locations, adding 7 new locations and 80 users. Facilitating buildout for office and warehouse networking and server infrastructure. Securing new contracts with internet service providers, suppliers, resellers, and contractors.Created a private cloud migrating physical servers to Microsoft Azure and Amazon AWS. File server to SharePoint and Exchange to Office365, legacy PBX to cloud-based VoIP, Citrix Workspace to Parallels RAS, and Sage100 2018 ERP to SSO enabled Sage100 2021 ERP. This reduced IT spending year over year by 35% and allowed the company to establish a hybrid work-from-home model that wouldn’t have been possible otherwise. Developed automation processes using Power Shell, Python, and Visual Basic to increase productivity in various departments including new hire onboarding, shipping tracking, sales tax calculation, direct deposit, data backups, expense tracking, and asset management. Established helpdesk ticket tracking system that led to better communication among colleagues and increased IT department response time by 50%.
