During this short term contract, I helped develop software for a greenfield project in the fintech space. This project operated within a dynamic and fast-paced environment, characterized by a stringent deadline aligned with the launch schedule of the hiring company. Notably, I collaborated directly with the business owners explaining technical concepts and navigating UI design in absence of dedicated project management or design teams. I used Ember, Tailwind and Typescript to develop the front-end of a modern RESTful web application.

As a software developer at Upsie, I've taken on a range of projects that have allowed me to develop and showcase my full-stack skills. Within three months of starting at the company, I completed my first full vertical slice project. This involved implementing a third-party API to track inbound and outbound shipments using Bullmq to run it as a background process. I persisted the data in a PostgreSQL database, exposed CRUD endpoints to permitted users in our internal portal, and implemented the UI in that portal.Later, I played a key role in a complete rebrand of both our public-facing eCommerce app and internal portal, where I honed my skills in EmberJS, HTML, and CSS. This project also included assisting in implementing the Strapi CMS, as well as using animations and CSS grid.More recently, I've helped create an API for public third-party use and a portal for partner businesses. In this new portal, I implemented Google Analytics to track simple use metrics and observe potential abuse of certain portal features. I was also given the task of implementing the roles and permissions that guarded access to these new features and updating our auth middleware to detect different tokens that would come from these new tools.I'm excited to continue taking on new challenges and contributing to the success of Upsie.

During this time I developed a system to maintain an efficient workflow despite working alone.
