I help arts and attractions build closer relationships with their audience through innovative software at PatronBase. I do this through a combination of technical expertise with a business change focus - making technology work for your organisation to "build an audience your way".A software engineer by background and education, my role as Solution Architect encompasses the end to end process of software product delivery - understanding what users need and may need in the future, communicating our response through marketing and technical sales, and delivering on those needs through product design, user experience, software architecture and project management and delivery.Alongside product development, I also consult on business improvements, systems development, software architecture, software project management and agile development. I won't fix your computer, but I will lead or focus the effectiveness of the team that makes your organisation's software systems work for you. With software engineering experience spanning a wide range of industries and applications, I thrive on a challenge; however, my particular areas of interest include:- Artificial intelligence and data science, especially evolutionary algorithms and machine learning- User experience - making software and the web inherently usable- BiometricsMy interest in taking things apart and putting things together extends beyond my “day job” — I volunteer in the civil engineering department for a local heritage railway and have a sizeable workshop for all things wood- and metalwork. To get in some time in the great outdoors, I volunteer helping with maintenance at a horse sanctuary and spend a fair chunk of time at the allotment trying to replicate a tenth of my grandfather’s success.
