In my role as the Career Resources Specialist, I provide 1:1 coaching and consultations to individuals in the Kansas City community who are seeking new career and employment opportunities. Through this role, I combine my knowledge of workforce trends, effective job search strategies, and interpersonal skills to provide information and resources that help.

As an Assistant Director at The University Career Center (UCC), I continued to develop my career coaching skills and group facilitation skills. I demonstrated progressive responsibility during my time at the UCC by taking on additional leadership roles including leading and implementing the department's training program for graduate student career coach.

Through my involvement in the Career Center's job search course, I provided feedback and support for students to consider different perspectives, problem solve, and cultivate perseverance in relation to the job search process. I also researched, planned, and implemented additional web based learning tools to further address elements of the course curriculum.

During my time as a career coach, I developed a foundation as a career development professional. I applied career development theories during approximately 100 student appointments each semester and engaged students in action planning, encouraging them to develop, explore, and pursue their career goals. • Conducted one-on-one supervision meetings with student staff to encourage development and growth
• Mediated conflict between members of the Orientation Assistant staff
• Managed logistics for the program including: pulling student reports, coordinating locations, and creating the daily program
• Communicated program schedules to various campus partners including session locations and staff assignments
• Facilitated the daily student panel for approximately 100 parents and guests of the program to help them feel at ease sending their student to the University of Kansas
