I was involved in implementing an enhancement to our checkout flows. This enhancement gave our customer faster way of completing an order translating the efforts to better conversion. I designed and developed a core system that acts as a "bridge" where third party payments requiring "holding period" are stored and processed until the payment is cleared. Orders from third party online marketplaces (Ebay, Amazon, Shop.com) are uploaded to this "bridge" for further processing. I did major work in implementing the Google Checkout implementation that can support multiple sites using a single Merchant account. This project makes use of the "bridge" intensively for capturing Notification events which is needed to clear payments and allow further processing of such orders.We rely on open source tools such Apache, MySQL, Linux & PHP for most of our system development and scripting requirements.
