As the Head of IT Strategy & Architecture at AJ Bell, I support the CTO in shaping and implementing our IT strategy, and lead teams of different specialisms working to deliver transformational change and continuous improvements across many disciplines.  My key responsibilities include:- Leading the Architecture, Platform Engineering, Data Streaming, Application Security, and Agile Practices at AJ Bell; delivering a combination of transformational change and continuous improvement.- Enhancing the understanding and awareness of our current operational and technological environment, ensuring alignment with business strategy.- Designing and implementing a forward-looking technology strategy that caters to the evolving needs of our business.- Establishing a data streaming team to effectively de-couple digital solutions from our back office systems, improving resiliency, efficiency and enabling better user experiences for our customers.- Creating an Application Security team dedicated to working alongside development teams to identify and mitigate vulnerabilities.- Driving the expansion of Agile practices to improve developer efficiency and integrate development with operations, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.- Transforming an automation engineering team into a platform engineering team, prioritising the improvement of the developer experience .- Assuming temporary management roles for the PMO and Infrastructure teams. I joined AJ Bell in October 2007 when it was a pension provider. It's now one of the largest investment platform providers in the UK, with over 449,000 retail customers and £76.2 billion in assets under administration.
