• Co-designed highly modular firmware architecture for distributed/synchronized motion and measurement machines that successfully reduced new sensor integration time from months to days

• Redesigned central machine protocol over EtherCAT to increase measurement data throughput and system reaction time
• Prototyped and integrated firmware/electrical interfaces for novel sensors (3-axis Interferometric Scanning Probe)
• Developed inter-task and multi-core RTOS-based protocols for configuring, commanding, and collecting measurements
• Implemented peripheral drivers using FreeRTOS in C on STM32 ARM MCUs including USB, ETH, Flash, DMA, SPI, UART
