Responsible for the Department of Strategic Planning, Management Control, Business Development, and M&A.Responsible for a number of M&A processes between Sonae and several businesses, and the respective Post Merger Integrations with Carrefour Portugal (Hypermarkets) and Boulanger Spain (Electronics Retailer)

Responsible for managing the sale of the retail business operations in Brazil. This included the sale of ten hypermarkets in the State of São Paulo to Carrefour. The remaining operations in the states of Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina, Paraná and São Paulo were sold to Walmart.

1992 – 1996: - Key member of the Strategic Planning and Management Control Department at Sonae Group. Responsible for Sonae Distribution and Sonae Imobiliária (Retail Real Estate) currently known as Sonae Sierra. - Active participation in implementing Sonae’s requalification projects pertaining to Reporting System’s and Business Monitoring. Oversaw the implementation of the methodologies and tools Sonae acquired from Hyperion Softwares (previously known as IMRS)- Leader of the Balanced Scorecard project. Responsible for designing a structured approach to the Employee Incentive Compensation Plan linked to performance objectives defined per employee/job role1996 – 1998: Responsible for designing two major projects within Sonae Distribution: the Loyalty Programme (Department of Marketing) and Pricing System Implementation (Sales Department)
